Your Story

If you are a disciple of Jesus you can’t help but want to share Him! Notice Peter and John’s testimony when they were forbidden to speak about Jesus. "For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard." Acts 4:20 NKJV. No one is forbidding us, we have freedom, but how anxious are we to share what we have seen and heard in relation to our Jesus? I remember hearing a quote in someone’s sermon years ago that deeply affected me: “The very first impulse of the renewed heart is to bring others also to the Saviour.”--The Great Controversy, p. 70.

Do you want to know if your heart is renewed? Look at the quote again. If that discourages you just remember God’s new covenant promise: "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you.” Ezekiel 36:26 NKJV. The same God who gave us a new heart at the beginning of our journey when we received Jesus as our personal Savior will do it again--and again, and again and again! The Bible says we need to “be renewed in the spirit of your mind.” Ephesians 4:23. I find I need this renewal constantly. How about you?  It is great to tell the story of how we first experienced God’s grace but what about this month, this week? How about today?

Would you like to have an almost irresistible power to “make Him known”? You can! We will truly succeed with the last phrase of our mission statement “...make Him known” when we have the following experience:
“Our confession of His faithfulness is Heaven's chosen agency for revealing Christ to the world… that which will be most effectual is the testimony of our own experience. We are witnesses for God as we reveal in ourselves the working of a power that is divine.

Every individual has a life distinct from all others, and an experience differing essentially from theirs. God desires that our praise shall ascend to Him, marked by our own individuality. These precious acknowledgments to the praise of the glory of His grace, when supported by a Christ-like life, have an irresistible power that works for the salvation of souls.” --The Desire of Ages p. 347 -- Pastor Mike
